SCF 3D Blocker Foaming

Beginning from year 2022, Shincell decided to developing a total new process for making supercritical midsole.

After almost 2 years of R&D, 3D blocker foaming midsole has finally gone into mass production in June. 2024.

"The decision is not easy to make, the process is hard to achieve, but we do believe it a must thing to do and we still have a long way to go to make it perfect!" said by our founder, Dr. Jiang.

Why is there 3D Block Foaming Technology?

Shincell's first generation technology is sheet foaming, which has provided us not only with good fame, but also with almost twice sales revenue each year since establishment in 2019.

   We find our elastomer, like M-TPU, M-TPEE, M-ATPU, M-Pebax, being loved by footwear industry not only for its clean, environmental production process, but also for its unique and excellent physical properties, especially its excellent rebound and super lightweight.

 One of the main applications of these 4 type elastomer is for footwear insole and midsole. Between these 2 application, insole process is more suitable with foam sheet, either it is molded insole or die-cut insole. But foam sheets are relatively challenging to make midsoles, one is due to its design limitation, more importantly is due to its material waste, leading to high cost.

In order to making SCF midsole production easier and at the same time solving the material waste problem when making it, Shincell came up with 3D blocker foaming technology.

Instead of extruding solid sheet as the first step of foam sheets, 3D blocker foaming starts with injection directly baby midsole, which solves the material waste from the root.
